The Pianist:
Mediated by his initial experience, acqaintance with the music of Joachim Kühn, Achim Jaroschek strives toward a way of playing that assimilates and transcends jazz simultaneously. It is almost unavoidable that he advances into a field of rhythmic sounds that belong in the domain of Cecil Taylor. But even in his Tayloresque sections, Jaroschek sounds unique. And he does not follow Joachim Kühn, who encouraged him, in a stylistic sense, but instead in a philosophical one: Find your sound, your culture of beats, your melodies and chord progressions on your instrument!
